Accessing the Defaults setup area
The defaults setup area is contained within the EROL Options window.

To access the default setup area,
1. Select Tools > Options… from the main EROL toolbar
2. Click the defaults button of your choice
3. Set up your default
4. Click 'Save and Close'

Page Defaults
When a new Page is inserted into your store, that page will be blank. It is possible however, to set up a default Page that will be applied with a series of pre-defined settings to every new Page you add to your store.

This is especially useful if you are importing your store data from an external data source.

A default Page will include one or more of the following settings:
- Page Name
- Page Loading Message
- Background image
- Background colour
- Container Table properties
- Pages scripts, including: CSS, Meta Tags, JavaScript and VBScript
- Header and Footer HTML

To set up a default store Page:
1. Select Tools > Options… from the main EROL toolbar
2. Click the 'Page Defaults' button
3. Set up your default Page
4. Click 'Save and Close'

All new Product Items you add will now be inserted with this Default applied to them.

Product Item Defaults
When a new Product Item is inserted into your store, that Item will include with it various default settings relating to that product. It is possible however, to set up a default Product Item that will be applied with a series of pre-defined settings to every new Product Item you add to your store.

This is especially useful if you are importing your store data from an external data source.

A default Product Item will include one or more of the following settings:
- Default quantity
- Individual tax settings
- Individual shipment settings
- Individual discount settings
- Stock settings
- Supplier info

To set up a default Product Item:
1. Select Tools > Options… from the main EROL toolbar
2. Click the 'Product Defaults' button
3. Set up the defaults for the Product Item
4. Click the 'Templates' button
5. From the 'Product Item Template' dropdown, select a default product template
6. Click 'Save and Close'

All new Product Items you add will now be inserted with this Default applied to them.

You can change the Template for any individual Item once it has been added by simply selecting a different one from the list of available Templates.

Layout Table Defaults
Each new Page in EROL always contains an initial Layout Table. This Layout Table will set the layout rules for all the Items that are going to be added to the page.

If you require the same Layout Table for every new page you create, you can set a default Layout Table for every new page.

To do this:
1. Select Tools > Options… from the main EROL toolbar
2. Click the 'Table Defaults' button
3. Set up your default Layout Table
4. Click 'Save and Close'

These default settings can be over-ridden on an individual basis.

Template Defaults
Whenever you add a new Product, Link or Display Item, that Item will have a default Item template applied to it.

If you require a specific template to be applied to an Item, you can set a default template for that Item.

To do this:
1. Select Tools > Options… from the main EROL toolbar
2. Click the 'Templates' button
3. Select the desired template(s) from the relevant template dropdown menu(s)
4. Click 'Save and Close'

These default settings can be over-ridden on an individual basis.
